Soñé que aparecía la penumbra resistiéndose a darle paso al día, amanecía poco a poco casi que al mismo tiempo que loros y guacamayos de colores surcaban el cielo con estruendosas carcajadas, acariciados por una leve y finita llovizna.
Observaba desde la ventana de la habitación de mi sueño como la neblina se hacía a un lado para que entraran rayitos de sol y un viento frío por un resquicio de la ventana. una mezcla de frío con pringues de sol infantil me golpeaba la cara y me despejaba la somnolencia que aún conservaba.
Si, soñé con mis abuelos, que madrugaban a enjalmar las bestias y cargarlas con productos que comercializaban por toda la provincia; panela, sal, granos, azúcar, utensilios de cocina y hasta telas. Mi padre que era el menor y como no tenían con quien dejarlo los acompañaba en las correrías y sus otros dos hermanos, ya mayorcitos, se quedaban en la casa atendiendo los oficios de la pequeña huerta con frutales en el solar.
Los abuelos emprendían sus largas jornadas en la madrugada con los encargos, tenían sus clientes seleccionados que los esperaban con avidez ya que además les llevaban medicamentos que en los pueblos pequeños no se encontraban. daban además consejos, mi abuela Juana les inculcaba la religión católica y sugería que los muchachos y muchachas fueran enviadas al seminario o a los conventos y el abuelo Pío que se dedicaran al comercio que les aseguraba un futuro próspero.
Esas tertulias las hacían cuando caía la tarde acompañados de buena música y uno que otro trago de brandy “hennessy” que acompañaban con leche. Los abuelos fieles a su parecer impusieron a sus hijos los caminos por recorrer en su formación, a mi padre lo enviaron al seminario de Pamplona para que fuera cura y a sus dos hermanos los iniciaron en las actividades de comercio , uno puso un granero y el otro compraba y vendía ganado y puso una carnicería en la plaza de mercado de Málaga y además prestaba dinero al interés.
En esa época de don Pio y doña Juana, nacidos a finales del siglo XVIX en Málaga, Santander, una gema de esmeralda entre las ariscas cordilleras del Chicamocha, se vivía en paz, los campos eran prósperos en cultivos de papa, trigo, cebada, hortalizas y frutales así como ganado lechero y ovejas de la cual extraían la lana que comercializaban.
Había paz, buena comida, no existía violencia partidista, ni narcotráfico, ni clanes, ni políticos corrompidos, mucha religiosidad, holgadamente se vivía y quienes contaban con recursos enviaban a sus hijos a estudiar a Bogotá, profesiones universitarias y a Pamplona y Zapatoca para formarlos como sacerdotes o monjas.
Los que se quedaban abrazaban el magisterio o el comercio, la agricultura y ganadería.
Así transcurría mi sueño cargado de recuerdos de las palabras de mi padre que evocaba sus épocas de niñez y juventud, cuando de sopetón unas sirenas no sé si de la policía o una ambulancia que aullaban estrepitosamente me despertaban de ese sueño placentero y me aterrizaban en un mundo convulso colmado de violencia y de tragedia humana.
Me fastidié al despertar porque quería seguir soñando con mi padre, con mis abuelos y con la hermosa provincia de García Rovira donde nacieron y se formaron ellos…mis ancestros, nuestros ancestros.
